Bengaluru Minister Tests 7.5-Km Pink Line Stretch Ahead of Metro Launch

Gowda trials Bengaluru's 7.5-km Pink Line stretch from Tavarekere to Kalena Agrahara with key leaders, as the section awaits final safety clearances and a central government inauguration date.

On September 2, Gowda joined Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, MLA M. Krishnappa, and BMRCL managing director P.C. Jaffer to test the 7.5-kilometre elevated stretch from Tavarekere to Kalena Agrahara.

The leaders reviewed operations, station progress and safety during the trial. Gowda said the section is ready for inauguration and expressed hope that the central government will provide a date for the launch this month.

The stretch forms the first phase of the 21-kilometre Pink Line and includes six stations, with an interchange at Jayadeva Hospital. The line is expected to provide relief to commuters travelling along congested Bannerghatta Road once final safety clearances are received by late September.

The trial also saw leaders from different parties working together smoothly, highlighting coordinated efforts around the city's infrastructure push. With the elevated section ready for inauguration, the remaining safety clearances and the central government's launch date will determine the next step for the project.
